PLACES TO EAT IN WINCHESTER - Dispensary Kitchen

I came across The Dispensary Kitchen on Instagram and wanted to give it a try, Winchester not being too far for us. I have mixed opinions on this place and I will just say it as it is.... We arrived around lunch time, as with most places they are usually busy being a weekend.

This place is small and narrow so if you have a buggy and younger children I would avoid as there is no place to put your buggy which is in sight so you can keep an eye on it. There is no waiting area for you so it's quite difficult. Staff weren't the most helpful and it was hard grabbing someones attention to actually ask - do you have any tables available. So we waited for around 20 minutes and managed to get a table for the 3 of us. It was actually 2 little round tables of 2 put together so we had to make do. Once you are seated everything else was fine.
I ordered the duck egg with parmesan and truffle oil salt for the little one which was absolutely delicious. I also love the presentation of the food and the variety on the menu.
Poached egg on sour dough and fried mushrooms
Chorizo, poached egg with bread.
The food was actually really good and reasonably priced. Everything was great here but it's just not really child friendly if you don't have a kid that behaves at the table. We were lucky with my girl as we eat out loads so we didn't have any problems once sat down but if you have a kid who can't sit still you may feel a little uncomfortable. This is definitely a place I would return back to but we won't be taking the buggy with us and get there early to ensure we get a table and seated quickly. I would say it's worth a visit if you are in the local area.
