Benefits Of Wooden Flooring

Wooden flooring to me is complete luxury, what I love about it is it adds character and warmth to a property especially a period one. A lot of people tend to steer away from it as it's always associated with being expensive, you get what you pay for. Here are my top 5 reasons for picking Wooden Flooring.

Initial costs can be slightly higher compared to other options on the market however when installed properly they can last a lifetime with regular maintenance and repairs over the years. With products such as laminate they don't fare as well over time regarding general wear and tear so you may find yourself replacing these far more often as the years go by and in turn costing you more money.

Wood floors are easier to clean compared to carpets for example. When we use to have carpets we were paying for a carpet cleaner every 12-18 mths to give them a deep clean (especially with kids / pets) so the costs over the years can add up. Where as good quality wooden floors you can give them a good wipe down weekly and they actually look better as the years go by.

Wooden floors are actually more hygienic than carpets. You read about parasites carpets can harbour especially if you have cats and dogs. With more and more people with allergy these days things like fleas / dust mites are very common.

Wood is timeless what ever the style, with carpets trends come and go. If you are planning on doing a complete make over you won't have to worry about changing the flooring which will save you money.

As mentioned previously you associate wood with being expensive but there are various options out there on the market to suit all budgets making it a lot more affordable than 10 years ago. If you are planning on selling your house, wooden flooring makes it very appealing for a buyer who might be stretched on budget. Seeing wooden flooring immediately is a saving and they won't need to spend money on replacing carpets.

I guess the bottom line is that it comes with a lot of different benefits in the long run. What ever you decide on especially if you are buying online always request for samples and shop around for the best deals.
