A few weeks ago was my last trip to London with hubby for this year mainly because my bump is getting bigger so walking around all day just gets me super tired. *Afternoon Tea at Lancaster London was our first stop only a few minutes walk from Lancaster Gate tube station. Afternoon tea is one of my favourite things to do I love nothing more than spending the afternoon with a hot cuppa with some warm scones strawberry jam and clotted cream.
Afternoon Tea at Lancaster London is a unique signature experience designed by Chef Ben Purton. Tea is served on the first floor lounge daily from 2pm - 5.30pm. The area is quiet, relaxing and you can stay there for as long as you want and what I enjoyed the most is everything was served to your pace so you can having everything served together or bit at a time and have a break between the sandwiches / scones etc. Obviously no champagne for me just English breakfast tea however hubby had a glass of Laurent Perrier.
5 minutes brewing time for my English Breakfast Tea - I liked how we were given a card so we know how long to wait for the type of tea you have selected. Often when you make tea at home you forget you need to let it brew a little before pouring and adding in your milk. When the tea was ready for sipping we tucked into our sandwich selection.
Ham and English mustard on white bread.
Piquillo pepper and hummus on whole meal bread.
Lancaster London home smoked salmon on granary bread.
Free range Barradale Farm egg and wild cress on white bread.
Warm Coronation chicken tartlet
Roast English beef with horseradish cream and watercress
The sandwich / savoury selection was absolutely delicious and if the sandwiches were not filling enough for you then you can order another plate! (no extra charge) Hubby particularly loved the savoury selection as they were served warm and one of each was not enough!
We had a little break before the scones were served and they were served warm...warm scones fresh out of the oven or warmed up are absolutely delicious. A selection of plain and raisin along with homemade strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream.
A selection of sweet bites were served last which included:
A signature chocolate & honey lolly pops
Pistachio and amarena cherry slice
Raspberry tart with vanilla custard
Honey apply cup cake
We had a wonderful relaxing afternoon at the Lancaster London and I would highly recommend it as a treat. By the time we left I looked at my watch we had spent over 2.5 hours there...enjoyed it so much it just flew by.
