A while back I shared a few posts on Nursery Decor ideas / Baby / Nursery Room ideas with you all, since then I have actually made a start on things! I knew I wanted something minimal since the room is small and I didn't want to cram so much in and I wanted to leave it feeling spacious as possible. I am not sure how much more I will get to do before the little one arrives so I thought it would be a good idea to show you the progress I have made so far!
We picked up the IKEA day bed (my shih tzu Tula getting in the way) a few weeks back and it fits nicely on the right of the room, to be honest there was no other space to put it since it pulls out into a double which will be handy for when our parents visit. I also picked up 2 of these Ikea picture ledges to be put up where the Gold Clouds are to either display books or random bits and pieces. A lot of people have actually asked if the Gold Clouds are wallpaper but they are stickers that stick on and peel off easily. I will write another post on how I stuck them on in terms of the spacing etc...
This is how the room looked before...I completely forgot to take before photo of the whole room and this is the only photo I can find. The room was pretty much my walk in wardrobe with my clothes rail on the right and opposite was a set of draws for all my bits and pieces and the desk is still in the same place because it's where I work from home / blog.
This is how the room is looking now...my clothes rail at the end will be going soon when I get fitted wardrobes done in the new year. Fitted wardrobes going right the way up to the ceiling where the desk is and move the desk further along. This is perfect for maximise storage space especially for a small room like this one and making full use of the space I have without it looking too cluttered / busy. I love everything hidden and looking nice and tidy and that free standing mirror can also go. I will get a full length mirror put on the inside of one of the wardrobe doors.
The cot will need to be tidied up this weekend putting in bed sheets etc...but for now it's used as a storage area for all my bits and pieces. It's actually been quite handy just throwing everything in before I got the day bed. We picked up this John Lewis Eric Cot along with the John Lewis Spring Cot Mattress because I thought it was great value and I had vouchers to spend.
I think that's about it until the next update!
What do you think so far?
