Turtle Bay was one of the places me and Michelle first visited many years back when she was still a student at University in Southampton. I have been back a few times since mainly for their 2 for 1 cocktails on a Saturday afternoon but it's been a while since I have stepped in for a bite to eat. I popped in for lunch a few weeks ago with hubby to see what they have to offer.
For starters: Chilli Squid - crispy spiced coated squid, mango mole, fresh lime & corriander mayo and Jerk Pit Prawns - whole shelled grilled king prawns with herb, chilli garlic butter & flatbread. Think I actually enjoyed the starters more than the mains being a huge seafood fan! Squid was fried nice and crispy and the fresh lime corriander mayo was perfect complemented it perfectly. The prawns with heads are always way more delicious and juicy. I probably would have liked extra flat bread to soak up rest of the sauce on the plate.
Mains - Jerk Chicken salad with avocado nice and light for lunch and perfect portion size along with pulled chicken with sweet potato fries & crunchy slaw & a dash of hot sauce stuffed in a wrap. The wrap was probably enough for 2 to share since it was lunch. Can't go wrong with sweet potato fries nice and crunchy.
We finished off with a delicious warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and a banana toffee cheese cake. Bellys stuffed and ready to brave town for a bit of Christmas shopping! I forgot to also mention we took our little one with us and they are very accommodating for children so I would highly recommend going here if you have kids. Crayons and activity sheet were provided to keep the little ones busy so you can enjoy your food.
