Must Visit Places When In Dubai

Me and hubby visited Dubai many years ago before we got married and absolutely loved it! We only stayed for 4 days as a stop over before flying to HK and it's somewhere we would like to go again with the little one since it's so family friendly. We stayed at one of the most known hotels in Dubai Atlantis The Palm. This hotel is great for couples and families, it offers waterpark, aquarium, dolphin bay and sea lion point and the best bit is you can choose half board / bed & breakfast.

If you are visiting Dubai for only a few days like we did here are the must see places.

1. Burj Khalifa
This landmark building is 829.8 meters high and it's the tallest building in the world and one of the most famous of the city's point of interest. A must visit to the observation deck on the 124th floor is a must do while you are visiting. The views are spectacular across the city skyline from this birds eye perspective. On the ground wrapping around the Burj Khalifa are beautiful gardens with winding walkways and plenty of water features.

2. Dubai Mall
When we were in Dubai the shops are amazing, they have all of our UK shops and the ones in the US in 1 mall. Atlantis hotel offers free shuttle buses to the mall daily so it was suited us well to have dinner then a spot of shopping in the evenings. Dubai mall is the city premier mall and it provides entry to the Burj Khalifa as well as the huge Dubai aquarium. Inside there is also a gaming zone, ice-scaring rink and cinema complex. There are always special events going on inside the mall such as live music / fashion shows.

3. Jumeirah Mosque
Jumeirah Mosque is known as one of the most beautiful mosques. Its an exact copy of Cairo's Al-Azhar mosque that is eight times it's size and it's a fine example of Islamic architecture. There are daily tours at 10am except Fridays.

4. Deira
Deira is on the northern bank of Dubai Creek and it's most famous for its's traditional Souks (markets) which bustles with shoppers at all times of the day. Dera Gold souk is world renowned as the largest gold bazaar in the world.

5. Desert Safari
Desert safari is a must for everyone who is visiting UAE and it's a great memory to share with your family and friends back at home. There are several tours across the desert of Dubai with several photo stops and a trip to camel farm. There are plenty of different tour operators offering this service so it's best to shop around to see what deals are available and read reviews online.

When you find your holiday to Dubai it's best to shop around and look for the best deals available. We found flying mid week was cheaper and different tour operators offer different deals. I remember ours included pick up / drop off to the airport in a taxi and I loved it! Soon as we landed we got picked up rather than trying to figure out how to get to the resort.
