FAMILY DAY - Southampton Common People Festival

Common People is one of our local yearly festivals in Southampton, they are from the makers of  the huge Bestival. It's been a few years since we last went to a festival and it was actually when I was pregnant with the little one back in 2015, we went to Camp Bestival in Dorset for a day trip since we are not ones to camp! Common People was a  great family day out with plenty to do for the little one and plenty to keep me and hubby entertained for the whole day absolutely tons of stuff to get into.
The festival is set across Southampton Common which is huge so you don't feel cramped at all. There are various tents dotted around the common for different types of music. From Glasgow house wizard Jasper James to all girl alt rockers Honeyblood and loads more Uncommon stage action!
So after a bit of lunch and ice cream we headed over to the children's section for all the fun and games including meeting Peppa Pig and holding a tiny owl!
Chalk Paint on the van!
Various puppet shows at different times of the day.
It was a hot hot day so I was glad there was plenty of shade in the children's area, otherwise it may actually be rather unbearable! The best bit was this huge ship sand pit for the children. It's so big that it looks like plenty of space for lots of children. Outside were some comfy deck chairs for us to site down and watch.
Huge bouncy castle that actually feels empty because it's so big.
A few stalls available for temporary tattoo, face painting and hair braided.
We joined in on a bit of painting.
It was a lovely day out with plenty to do for the family, so I highly recommend you going next year as I am sure they will be back due to the huge success. Are you a family of festival lovers or you stay clear of them?
