How lucky are we, less than 1 hours drive we are at Bournemouth beach in Dorset where there is 7 long miles of golden sands. Bournemouth beach is maintained to the highest international standards for cleanliness and environmental management and its definitely some of the best in the world. You can imagine how busy it gets when the sun comes out! We are not morning people so by the time we arrive it was pretty much lunch time leaving us with half a day. I would suggest staying for at least 3 nights so you can actually relax and not feel rushed to cram everything into 1 day. There are plenty of hotels in Bournemouth to choose from what ever your budget, but I would suggest to book way in advance to get the best price and you actually find a hotel / B&B as they get booked up really quickly. If like us you are going for the day I prefer parking in convenient locations so the BIC car park is the best one, literally 3 minutes walk to the beach.
Our day started off with a quick play on the beach, literally hours of fun here digging away. Collecting water from the sea...mix mix mix!
Followed by a ride on the land train where you can just sit back and enjoy the seafront scenery. If you take a round trip there and back and not hop off it's around 1 hours ride. Prices start from as little ast £3.20 per adult for one journey and £6 for unlimited travel and under 5 kids are free which made it rather cheap for us. They are will be running daily through the Easter break and after the Easter break. Look at some of the beautiful pastel beach huts we saw on the way.
After lunch we headed to the Oceanrium where I purchased our tickets a day in advance to get 30%. It's not very big inside but I think it was great value for what we paid and the little enjoyed it which is the main thing. It's one of those places we always say we will visit but not had the chance.
Quick bite to eat at The Crab for a seafood platter before heading to the Amusement arcades.
This place was absolutely packed, tip for you guys and us next time we visit again is to head to the arcades along the seafront where there are hardly any people. This place was so busy with old and young. We tend to spend around £10 in these places and the little will happily leave smiling!
We had a fantastic family day out, on the way home me and the little fell asleep straight away in the car. Bournemouth is a fab day out for the entire family and I would highly recommend it!
The spending money was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own.
